Cost Accountant Job Description
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for monitoring labor, materials, subcontractor, and other cost-related expenses across multiple locations. This includes collecting, verifying, and entering daily production data from the field, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved.
Responsibilities:
- Expense Tracking: Monitor labor, materials, subcontractor, and other cost-related expenses across multiple locations.
- Production Reconciliation: Collect, verify, and enter daily production data from the field, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved.
- Inventory Management: Review intra-company inventory transfers, ensuring proper transfer pricing and accuracy.
- Variance Analysis: Perform weekly reviews of inventory reports and conduct variance analysis by location.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver detailed cost-related & ad hoc reports for management.
- Closing Processes: Support both month-end and year-end closing processes to maintain financial integrity.
- Audit and Compliance: Contribute to producing accurate financial statements and support external audit processes.
- Standard Cost Analysis: Assist in analyzing and establishing standard costs for produced materials and regularly update these cost standards.
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis
Requirements:
- BS, Finance/Accounting or related
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
