Assistant Finance Director
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Director to join our client's team. This key role will be responsible for overseeing and developing procedures, policies, and controls necessary to provide accurate records of expenditures and budget balances for agency programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial procedures, policies, and controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in managing and monitoring grant and contract accounting by budgets and deadlines to ensure timely reporting to funding agencies.
- Oversee the preparation of annual operating budgets and review expenditures to ensure compliance with budget limits.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll.
- Review and oversee accounting and financial documents for accuracy and compliance with purchasing & investment policies and procedures.
- Prepare and oversee monthly status reports of funds and expenditures.
- Review and oversee classification, coding, allocation, posting, and balancing of accounts payable.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of invoices for agency programs and reconciliation of receipts.
- Work with Grants Administrator to coordinate accounts and grants receivable for all program areas.
- Prepare and track purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Review and prepare bank account reconciliations.
- Research and resolve discrepancies and report findings.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual financial audit.
Requirements:
- Five (5) years experience in accounting and financial operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience with grants and contracts, government accounting, and computerized accounting applications.
- Valid Texas Class C Operator's License.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Tyler software preferred.
