Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Director :
Oversee timely and accurate payroll processing for 7,000 home health aides across 30 multi-state branches using ADP Workforce Now.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll laws while adhering to company policies.
Verify time records, associate action changes, retro-pays, bonuses, terminations, direct deposits, garnishments, child support orders, and travel expenses are accurately entered and processed.
Manage off-cycle payroll processing , including bonuses, voids, reissues, and special payroll adjustments.
Oversee quarterly and year-end payroll reporting to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Run weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll reports across multiple business units and departments.
Develop, recommend, and implement process improvements to strengthen payroll controls, systems, and efficiency.
Research and respond to union requests and manage payroll-related compliance issues.
Ensure timely response to all Verification of Employment forms.
Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll operations and transactions.
Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Director Role :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
4 years of multi-state payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume setting.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal payroll and tax regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, with the ability to analyze payroll data effectively.
Proven ability to lead and optimize payroll processes in a multi-state environment.
