Overview of GIS Specialist role :

Perform spatial analysis with a variety of data sources related to farming operations, crop production, water use, and land use

Process and analyze remote sensing imagery (satellite, aerial, and drone) to identify changes

Ensure data integrity throughout all GIS resources including data collection, data storage and data usage

Manage web maps, field trial maps, project maps, and annual reporting

Develop scripts or workflows to automate geospatial processes

Coordinate with farming divisions and other departments to determine user needs

Integrate data and ensure integrity of all related data

Perform and manage field data information gathering and audits

Experience Preferred for the GIS Specialist role :

Bachelors in related subject or certification preferred

Familiarity with GIS Software : ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, Arcgis.com

Remote sensing tool familiarity : ENVI, ERDAS IMAGINE, ArcGIS Image Analyst

Scripting knowledge : Python, ArcPy, GDAL
