Industrial Maintenance Technician - Second and/or Third Shift

SUMMARY

Responsible for troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance to ensure correct and efficient operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure operation or machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance requirements on all equipment.
  • Supply basic hand tools.
  • Conducts trouble shooting on all equipment to identify and correct machine/equipment malfunctions.
  • Removes defective components and installs new to restore function.
  • Fabricates & repairs parts where feasible.
  • Reads and interprets blue prints to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Maintains a safe, clean work environment utilizing all required PPE.
  • Completes welding and cutting of materials as required.
  • Adjusts and maintains equipment to provide proper operation.
  • Support IATF 16949 initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

*High School Diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of maintenance education & experience. One to three years of general maintenance experience required with welding experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and read/understand written work instructions.

Reasoning Ability:

Requires general problem solving knowledge, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Certificate, Licenses or Registrations:

Not required, but Maintenance Training or certification is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The associate is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. Exposure to extreme heat or cold may be encountered. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Work will typically be from eight to ten hours per day, five days a week, with occasional additional overtime on short notice.
