Summary
Plans, directs, coordinates, evaluates, and provides leadership and development/mentoring for salaried and hourly employees in the molding department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Ensures employees complete safety training, safe work environment established, leads department safety team, provided leadership for plant wide program.
· Establish production metrics and tracking systems for molding production area.
· Coordinate planning and schedule activities to ensure customer open orders are covered on time of requirement ship date.
· Monitoring production output and quality to ensure that production targets are met and that parts meet customer specifications.
· Ensure all materials are accurately recorded in computer system (total parts produced and scrap) and are labeled with CLC Part # Identification or any other identification required before this is moved to another process or shipping docks.
· Liaison with all applicable departments to minimize any disruptions to production plan.
· Monitor daily production performance and work with department leadership to ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary to meet production goals.
· Coordinate through Human Resources to ensure adequate staffing is available to support production requirements.
· Supervise and train manufacturing staff, familiarize them with SOP including machine startup, operation of machine, phone case demolding techniques, minor processing adjustments, handling and quality assurance of product after demolding, shut down, etc. all with an emphasis on safety.
· Assist with problem solving activities to improve areas of deficiency to performance metrics.
· Analyze production performance and implement improvement action plans where targets are not being met.
· Monitor associates’ compliance to company policies and work standards.
· Oversee production launch activities for all assigned departments.
· Responsible for developing and managing budgets.
· Work in collaboration with warehouse and senior materials manager to ensure smooth flow of materials.
· Support training activities and verification of training effectiveness.
· Coach and counsel direct reports on department and personal performance.
· Support continuous improvement activities through coaching of team members, assignment of personnel to support Kaizen events or quality circles and as a cross-functional team member.
· Participate in and support cost saving programs to ensure corporate objectives are met.
· Update A3 metrics monthly.
· Administer discipline in accordance with company policies.
· Conduct annual performance reviews.
· Ensure layered process audits (LPA) assigned are conducted as scheduled.
· Support ISO, IATF and/or TS16949 audits, guidelines, and initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or a minimum of three to five years in injection molding, processing, and troubleshooting plastics processing or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous manufacturing management experience including supervision, and project management at exempt level required.
Language Skills
Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, groups of associates, or management representatives, suppliers, and customers; ability to use computerized applications to summarize production status or activities and email systems in the day-to-day functions of the job.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, potentially hazardous chemicals and outside weather conditions. Exposure to extreme heat or cold may be encountered. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Work will typically be from eight to ten hours per day, five days a week, with occasional travel, by car or commercial aircraft, for external meetings with customers.
