Responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all Injection Mold, jigs, fixtures, end of arm tooling. Support tool engineering for new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds. Work on complex projects requiring machining and Mold building experience, with results impacting on project completion. Work under general supervision, reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Dept. Manager.
2.0 Position Responsibilities:
3.1 Educational Requirements:
3.1.1 High school diploma of general education degree (GED) with 5-8 years experience;
3.1.2 Preferred on the job Tool and Die or Molding apprenticeship
3.1.3 Capable of reading and interpreting blue prints for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
3.1.4 Advanced project management and timeline skills.
3.1.5 Full capability to diagnose hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical.
3.1.6 Knowledge of injection molding machines.
3.2 Language Skills Requirements
3.2.1 Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and system documentation.
3.2.2 Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.
3.2.3 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general associate.
3.3 Mathematical Skills Requirements
3.3.1 Excellent math and writing skills
3.4 Reasoning Ability Requirements
3.4.1 Ability to actively participate in problem solving activities.

2.0 Position Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain Injection Molds
- Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with minimal downtime to aid production
- Evaluate each job and determine if it can be repaired in press or must be removed to Tool Room for essential maintenance and repair work
- Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales
- Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management
- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations
- Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality of parts produced
- Identify critical spares requirements and log usage
- Operate Fork Lift Truck and lifting equipment
- Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production
- Assist in tooling buyoffs and trials
- Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity and customer deadlines
- Document and update Mold history and other work records
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Carry out engineering level changes to tools and modifications
- Test and confirm electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic operation of tools before return to production
- Record all relevant data in relation to tooling and record on the Tool Room database
- Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives
- Understand and operate within basic cost/budget measures for tooling
- Work within 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard
- Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported
- Promote environmental issues and ensure all company procedures are understood and followed
- Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends regarding tool making
- Undertake special projects as required
- Quality control of work by appropriate reviews
- Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends
- Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
- Undertake continuous training and development
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Independently determine approach and assigned tasks
- Understanding of Health and Safety practice
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
