Warehouse & Inventory supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts of materials and finished goods within the manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring inventory accuracy, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting efficient production operations. Warehouse & Inventory supervisor will work closely with various departments, including production, receiving, shipping, and purchasing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate regular cycle counts in the system per type of product in various warehouse locations, including raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Accurately count, weigh, or measure items and record findings in the inventory management system.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records. Identify root causes of discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of cycle count results, including count sheets, discrepancy reports, and location audits.
- Collaborate with inventory control and other departments to resolve inventory issues and improve inventory accuracy.
- Assist and lead with the Materials Manager in the annual physical inventory count.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the warehouse and counting areas.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, as needed and certified.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Report the Inventory accuracy and total amount of inventories on hand.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training in supply chain management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems. Experience with IQMS is a plus.
- Excellent math and analytical skills.
- Ability to accurately count, measure, and weigh items.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Lead and Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning and RFID technology.
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- May require working overtime or weekends as needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
