As a Direct Support Professional at Creative Living Options, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. This position is based in the United States and is essential for fostering independence and community integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including grooming, bathing, and dressing as needed.
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support individuals with dementia care by providing compassionate assistance and maintaining safety.
- Document vital signs and changes in health status accurately for reporting purposes.
- Prepare meals and assist with nutritional needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote community involvement and personal interests.
- Observe and report any behavioral or physical changes to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in healthcare or community support preferred.
- Knowledge of home community care practices and assisted living environments.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional training in medication administration is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to provide comprehensive support.
