Creative Metal Products (CMP), founded in 1995, is a privately held, managed-growth oriented company. CMP has an excellent reputation and an established track-record when it comes to rapid, high-quality production of innovative products. We fabricate individual components, assemblies or complete products to meet our customer’s unique specifications. We specialize in metal fabrication- using light- to medium-thickness metals. CMP serves a number of industries including- Electronics component and assemblies; Lighting/Energy; Industrial equipment- machine enclosures; Electrical Enclosure; Material handling equipment and storage; medical, safety and military.
Position Details:
Location: Hybrid - 1-day a week in office (Neenah, WI), perhaps on the road another day and calling/email remotely.
Job & Duration: Internship - duration is based off of what each the company and candidate see as most beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Strategy Formulation
· Develop a strategic acquisition plan, identifying target companies within the machining industry (focus on businesses with $3M to $20M in revenue).
· Utilize NAICS codes, ZoomInfo, and industry databases to build a targeted list of potential acquisition candidates.
· Assess the strategic fit, financial attractiveness, and competitive advantages of identified targets.
· Analyze alternative M&A strategies, including strategic alliances and joint ventures.
Outreach & Relationship Development
· Craft and implement multi-channel outreach strategies (phone, email, direct mail) to engage business owner(s).
· Conduct introductory calls and meetings with CEOs/Owners, laying the groundwork for acquisition discussions.
· Assist in developing marketing materials and outreach scripts tailored to acquisition targets.
· Provide regular updates on pipeline development and deal progress.
Investment Decisions, Valuation & Due Diligence
· Develop reports and presentations summarizing acquisition opportunities for senior leadership
· Assist in evaluating financial statements, risk factors, and business valuation metrics to determine acquisition potential.
· Conduct due diligence activities, including synergy analysis and risk assessment.
· Support deal structuring to optimize tax implications and shareholder value.
· Gain exposure to capital structure considerations, pro forma financial modeling, and LBO transactions.
(Presuming a deal closes) Post-Deal Integration & Reporting
· Contribute to integration planning to ensure successful post-merger transitions.
Required/Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Pursuing an MBA - Substantial plus
- Experience with databases like Zoominfo or other lead generation tools is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong analytical, research, and financial modeling skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
- Willingness to take on additional work outside the scope of the job description.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly compensation of $20 per hour plus performance-based commission/bonus structure for successful lead generation and meetings.
- All travel expenses covered.
