Position Overview
- We are seeking a versatile and motivated Production Floater to join our metal fabrication shop. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by assisting in various departments, including cutting, forming, welding, assembly, and finishing. The ideal candidate is adaptable, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in multiple production areas, including cutting, punching, forming, welding, grinding, and finishing.
- Operate basic shop machinery such as shears, press brakes, CNC machines, and welders under supervision.
- Support material handling, including loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Assist in assembling and packaging finished products for shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Provide backup support to production workers during peak times or staffing shortages.
- Participate in on-the-job training to expand skill sets and enhance job performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication shop or manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or work instructions is a plus.
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks and departments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
