Job Duties
- Packages shipments for on-time and safe delivery.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Assists in dispatching of trucks and understand ebb and flow of the process
- Communicate with customer service and schedulers regarding shipping information
- Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
- Must be willing to cross train and move within department to maintain production
- Mark/tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required
- Check quantities of items received against shipping information. Record and report discrepancies
- Keep the shipping area clean and maintained including keeping aisles clear, breaking down boxes, and taking out the garbage and recycling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understands basics of shipping including but not limited to: Invoices, orders, inventory control, counting, and packaging
- Can lead other individuals within the department by example
- Ability setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment providing consistent work and customer service
- Proven track record for being a team player.
- Detail oriented and thorough with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- This job also involves physically handling products for returns, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment, and driving a forklift or stand-up reach lift as needed
Preferred Experience
- 2 years’ experience in a metal fabrication/manufacturing environment
- 2 years’ experience with shipping/logistics.
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Clerical/Administrative understanding of shipping department
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
