What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher/Floater position at Creative Minds Preschool and Childcare?
We are looking for full and part time assistant teachers to join our amazing childcare!
Full time: Infant room staff 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday
Part time: Afternoon Float staff roughly 12pm to 5 or 530pm, varied days
Qualifications:
- CPR Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant with AED certification
- First Aid Certification.
- Getting Started training done within 90 days of hire.
- Mandated Reported training immediately
- ND Safe Sleep training immediately(if working with infants)
- Minimum of 13 hours of continued professional development training annually that includes SIDS (if working with infants) and at least 1 hour of physical activity training.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assists the Lead Teacher as needed. Adheres to all policies & licensing requirements.
- Complete 2-day onsite orientation
- Promotes a healthy, emotional, social, intellectual and physical environment
- Maintains an environment that is clean, organized and safe. Responsible for the upkeep of all classroom equipment and materials
- Maintains confidentiality
- Engages in positive staff-child interaction and positive parent-teacher interactions
- Excellent communications skills and takes initiative
- Plays and interacts with the children
- Communicates with parents or guardians daily, keeping them informed of any concerns both verbally and in Brightwheel
- Responsible for keeping records of children’s attendance, daily reports, and progress on each child’s growth and development
- Supervises assigned groups of children
- Implements developmentally appropriate curriculum, activities and lesson plans as directed by the lead
- Establish goals that will promote individual and group educational plans
- Serves meals and assists in developing good nutritional habits
- Helps with diapering or pottying of children
- Responsible for seeking emergency medical attention for children and staff as needed, notifying parents and the supervisor if a child becomes ill or is injured
- Flexibility in classroom placement, especially if part-time
- Is on time and present for scheduled shift; when unable to work scheduled shift – informs supervisor per policy and helps to find own replacement.
- Follows program policies and classroom procedures
- Speaks kindly of children and staff, and brings concerns to lead staff or administration
- Follows all emergency and safety procedures
- Attends quarterly staff meetings
- Other duties upon request by immediate supervisor
- Follows program dress code
- Ability to regularly lift 40 pounds
- Assists in helping new staff learn the room
- Participation in parent involvement events
- Seeks to learn, grow, and improve their skill set
- Steps up when lead is gone to ensure the room continues to run smoothly
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
