Manufacturing Draftsman

We are seeking a Manufacturing Draftsman with knowledge, experience, or expertise in AutoCAD and Inventor to create detailed technical drawings and models for various manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, innovation, and total ownership of their work, ensuring precise designs that meet production requirements and quality standards. Collaboration and respectful communication with cross-functional teams are essential to ensure project success. 

Responsibilities

• Develop submittals for client approval in accordance with contract scope
• Develop CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings and electronic files for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) fabrication
• Assist with estimating takeoff, mockup development, quality analysis, quality control and value engineering aspects of fabrication
• Maintain project schedule, documents, data, and files
• Assist in the preparation of Architectural drawings for various building materials and systems
• Work collaboratively within a team environment
• Attend scheduled project manager, estimator, and operations meetings upon request
• Develop detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Interpret architectural design sketches, specifications, and design requirements to produce accurate manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with architectural, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and safety standards.
• Revise drawings based on feedback, design changes, or production requirements.
• Maintain organized documentation of drawings, revisions, and project files.
• Participate in design reviews, offering innovative solutions to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion without compromising quality.

Requirements

• Candidate must be proficient with AutoCAD
• Good working knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft 365 (Office, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)
• Have a good understanding of the construction industry and building practices
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities with consistent follow-through
• Keen attention to detail, crave challenges, quick learner
• Professional in demeanor and a true team player
• Highly motivated, high energy, positive outlook with a strong work ethic
• Enjoy Hands on development of new ideas and products

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
• 2 years of drafting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator, capable of working collaboratively within a team.
• Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
