As we continue to scale, we're looking for an HR Generalist/Specialist to support our Personnel Development/HR operations and help us recruit, retain, and develop our workforce.
Position Summary:
The Personnel Development Specialist will support the HR department by performing various human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
• Develop creative job descriptions, post job openings, and manage the hiring process from candidate selection to onboarding.
• Conduct interviews, screen applications, and coordinate pre-employment assessments with respect and professionalism.
• Facilitate onboarding to ensure new hires understand company values, benefits, and role expectations.
2. Employee Relations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits, promoting respect and open communication.
• Mediate and resolve conflicts among employees and between employees and management in a fair, honorable, and timely manner.
• Actively foster a positive and synergistic work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
3. Performance Management
• Assist managers with employee performance reviews, goal-setting, and development plans that encourage creativity and ownership.
• Support consistent and constructive feedback, emphasizing accountability and transparency.
• Promote career growth and development opportunities that align with our values.
4. Benefits & Compensation
• Manage and administer employee benefits programs with respect and integrity, ensuring clear communication and responsiveness to employees’ needs.
• Coordinate with payroll to ensure total ownership of accurate, timely compensation.
• Address questions and concerns about benefits, helping employees understand and maximize resources available to them.
5. Training & Development
• Identify and develop training programs to foster creativity, innovation, and teamwork, addressing the evolving needs of the organization.
• Partner with department heads to design role-specific training that supports skill development and total ownership.
• Track and assess the effectiveness of training programs to promote continuous improvement.
6. Compliance & Record-Keeping
• Maintain employee records in an organized, compliant manner, demonstrating total ownership of accuracy and accessibility.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and health and safety regulations, reflecting honor and respect for the legal standards and employee rights.
• Conduct audits to uphold consistent and fair practices across the organization.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience: 2 years in an HR generalist or specialist role, with experience in recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
• Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, grounded in respect and empathy.
• Integrity in handling confidential information.
• Proficiency in various HR software and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Forms, etc.).
• Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
