Key Responsibilities
Editorial Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive editorial calendar aligned with quarterly themes, cultural events, and audience interests.
- Oversee the creation, editing, and publication of content to ensure it aligns with the magazine’s vision and quality standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to brainstorm innovative content ideas that resonate with our target audience.
- Establish content partnerships across multiple fields, including tourism, the arts, and local/regional government.
Team Leadership
- Build up and supervise a diverse team of 10-20 freelance content creators, including writers, photographers, and videographers.
- Assign projects, set deadlines, and provide constructive feedback to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging creativity and professional growth.
Operational Oversight
- Manage the editorial budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for content creation, freelance contributions, and other operational needs.
- Analyze key performance metrics and audience insights to refine content strategies and improve engagement.
- Coordinate with marketing and program teams to maintain consistent branding and promote Creative PInellas activities content effectively.
- Serve as the liaison between county agencies, artists, and tourism partners
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in journalism, communications, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a management or editorial capacity.
- Strong understanding of art, culture, and tourism trends, with a knack for identifying engaging storytelling opportunities.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and editorial calendars effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and a commitment to editorial excellence.
- Proficiency in digital publishing tools and platforms (e.g., WordPress, Google Analytics, SEO best practices).
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with remote teams or freelancers.
- Knowledge of multimedia content creation (photography, video, graphic design).
- Familiarity with social media strategies and audience engagement techniques.
