What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restorative Aides position at Creative Solutions in Healthcare?
• Perform restorative procedures in which he/she has been trained. These procedures include ROM (range of motion), transfers, positioning – bed & wheelchair, ambulation, ADLs, restorative dining, prosthetic management;• Carry out resident related restorative nursing functions, which are predetermined for reach resident and assigned by the DON/ADON and/or Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapist;• Monitor the use of and be able to apply appropriate positioning devices, i.e. hand rolls, heel protectors, seat cushions, splints, and slings;• Follow appropriate charting/documentation procedures;• Attend in-service educational programs required by persons delivering resident care as per state regulations;• Report to Charge Nurse immediately when observing any unusual or significant change(s) in a resident’s physical or behavioral condition;• Assist in the teaching of restorative techniques to all facility employees; • Practice safety techniques in resident care and appropriate body mechanics;• Weighing and recording of such for each resident within the facility on a monthly basis. Ambulation and transfers would be incorporated in this procedure.Qualifications:• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from state;• Long Term care experience with nurse education background;• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and handicapped people;• Ability to comply with the Patient Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities;• Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures;• Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.Physical Demands:Sitting: 0-2 hours in an 8 hour work shift.Standing: 3 - 7 hours in an 8 hour work shift. Alternates continuously to walking.Walking: 7 hours in an 8 hour work shift. Alternates occasionally to standing.Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
