Job Title : Sr Mechanical Design Engineer – Hardware Design
Location(s) : Newton, MA
Position Summary :
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Hardware Design (HW) will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare. You will be a highly visible technical resource working on development of complex electro-mechanical systems. There will be direct involvement from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment. This role is suited for a senior-level R&D engineer with experience in developing complex electromechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead designing complex mechanical systems from concept to validation.
- Implement Computer aided design (CAD) best practices including master sketch / modeling and model base design (MBD).
- Create 2D mechanical and electrical (cable) drawings by using GD&T where it is needed.
- Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout.
- Creation of 2D / 3D drawings with working knowledge of ASME drafting standards including GD&T (Y14.5-2018).
- Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.
- Help with the vendor communications and procurement issues.
- Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
