Job Summary:
This position is under direct supervision of the Safety & Security Manager and is responsible for maintaining the highest level of protection; safeguarding the security of assets, personnel, customers, visitors, and products.
Responsibilities Of The Position
- Promote a consistent safety message across all CW facilities to achieve companywide and facility safety goals
- Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Act as a resource to site leadership and managers on safety and security matters
- Assist with the risk assessment methods and participates in internal audits for anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and eliminating hazards. This will include internal audits such as Monthly GMP Walks (in conjunction with QA) and monthly facility Safety meetings.
- Coordinate the paperwork and record keeping duties (with Security Guards) as they pertain to each facility’s security policy such as Door Codes, Master Keys, Visitor Logs, ID badges and compliance practices (i.e. NDA, GMP, etc.)
- Ensure all reports and documents are kept up to date and accurate (Safety Log, Safety Observations, Near misses, Emergency Response List, Evacuation Maps, Emergency procedures, etc.)
- Assist in capturing all Safety corrective actions and partner with internal resources to ensure all open issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner
- Identify and advise ways to reduce or eliminate conditions which could lead to human injury, theft, vandalism, and/or property or product damage
- Assist with documentation and corrective action reporting and/or re-training for all near miss incidents and accidents including OSHA reporting
- Participate and assist in safety/security training and awareness programs including annual Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), First Aid & CPR, Emergency Evacuation, etc.
- Assist with the facility Emergency Response Plan and Crisis Management Plan in conjunction with other department leads (Fire, Tornado, active shooter, etc.)
- Maintain all Fire Extinguishers, First Aid, and Blood Borne kits ensuring they are adequately supplied and in good working order (not expired). Partner with MRO Buyer for re-ordering First Aid supplies.
- Coordinate the Bloodborne Disposal process
- Assist and monitor the facility’s closed-circuit video surveillance system and capture all safety/security incidents
- Manage ID badges (Create badges, assign temporary codes, deactivate accounts)
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of security operations and safety practices in a food manufacturing facility
- Understanding of current OSHA regulations and all federal, state, and local workplace safety laws
- HS Diploma or higher required
- 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
- Participate in company GMP walks
- Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
- Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
- This position may require the employee to work weekends or shifts other than their own to meet the needs of the business.
