ASSISTANT TEAM LEADER DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
Pay rate: $19.50/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall well-being of program participants by cultivating an environment that fosters independence within a safe learning environment and that encourages the enhancement of positive relationships. In addition to Direct Support Professional (DSP) responsibilities, the Assistant Team Leader supports the development and growth of activities in the community day program. The Assistant Team Leader also provides assistance to the Team Leader supporting the DSP staff and participants in the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Advocate for assigned individual(s), i.e., attend all meetings, ensure all medical, dental and therapy appointments are scheduled and kept and assist in developing and maintaining family and community relationships.
Attend to individuals’ personal care needs. (This may include lifting and assisting individuals in and out of wheelchairs, use of Hoyer lift and maintaining good hygiene.)
Transport individuals, as needed, using personal vehicle (i.e., to appointments, work, etc.)
Transfer from one assignment to another as requested (e.g., from one residence to another or from day program to residence and vice versa).
Conduct intake and orientation for new participants.
Support Team Leader in aspects of scheduling functions.
Seek out internal and external resources needed by participants and stakeholders.
Submit all reports, e.g., Quality Assurance summaries and Outcomes to Quality Assurance Coordinator.
Assist in service coordination by maintaining relationships with families, community resources and other involved providers.
Verifying documentation to support billing within identified time frames.
PHYSICAL WORK TOLERANCES:
Ability to do standing/sedentary tasks for long periods of time.
Ability to perform range of motion tasks, including but not limited to; reaching, bending, stretching, stooping and lifting.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (all personnel are trained in correct lifting procedures).
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous experience in related field.
Valid US driver’s license.
Satisfactory driving record per agency’s insurance company standards.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to the extent necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to perform basic math skills to the extent necessary to perform the job.
Must have or be willing to obtain trainings within the Agency’s specified timeline including but not limited to: DSP, CPR/FA, Welle.
Organization/Prioritizing skills.
