What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floater/Driver position at Creative World of Child Care?
Position Summary
Under the direction of center administration, the floater will execute classroom activities and help maintain a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of children. The
floater position will move into different classrooms to help maintain the standards of the center. Classrooms may include infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age. The floater will help support the lead teacher, assistant teacher,
and the teacher’s aide in providing a safe and educational learning environment for the children.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks
Program Core Features
- Provide safe transportation to and from the child’s assigned school during the school year and field trips during the summer
- Provide a high-quality learning environment that incorporates evidence curriculum and instructional activities.
- Support the teachers to provide the highest quality of care to the children.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training in support of ongoing professional development.
Curriculum Development
- Positively engage with children and use appropriate Conscious Discipline methods, as outlined in CWCC’s policy.
- Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Assist the teachers in implementing lesson plans.
Home-School Connections
- Develop relationships with families by providing open communication and encouraging parent input.
- Interpret school programs for parents to strengthen the understanding of the child’s needs and the importance of an early learning environment for the continued development of the child.
Other
- Attend staff meetings, as requested.
- In cooperation with other staff, complete daily cleaning duties.
- Carry out routine duties such as meal preparations, diapering, toileting, hand washing, and supervision of children at all times.
- Identify concerns or developmental milestones of primary care children to the lead teacher.
- Ensure classroom materials, furniture, and supplies are properly maintained.
- Any other duties assigned by center administration and lead teacher.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years old or older
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of teaching experience in a childcare environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 25-35 lbs.
- Ability to walk, kneel, sit, and stand for long periods.
