Founding Software Engineer, Infrastructure

🌟 About You

You’re a Software Engineer Who Can contribute To Backend Or Even Fullstack Development, But Find Yourself at Home Working On Platform Infrastructure. You’re a Fluent Generalist (not Necessarily Expert!) On All Things Infra, Able To Flex Between DevOps, Security, Compliance, And Platform As Needed. You Dream About ARNs, Helm Charts, RDS And SOC 2. Ideally You Are:

• Experienced with production systems at scale, ideally in startups where you owned the entire stack
• Security-minded - you treat all things cyber, appsec, and cloud security as foundational
• Experienced ideally in a start-up like environment where you have taken full ownership of projects from start to finish
• Comfortable working in sprint cycles in a fast-paced environment and embody our cultural principles around outcome orientation and biasing towards action
• Customer focused - care about addressing the challenges our customers encounter, using their feedback to continuously shape our offerings.
• Adaptable - moving across the spectrum of infrastructure to traditional software engineering as needed

👷‍♀️ About the Role

The founding infrastructure engineer will work closely with the CTO, the engineering team and even customers. You'll be the owner of our infrastructure, deployment, and compliance initiatives and help keep our team moving fast and our customers winning.

The nature of this work will change in a fast-moving environment but you can expect at least a combination of:

• Infrastructure & Platform: Owning our Kubernetes and broader AWS infrastructure, maintaining our Terraform and Helm charts, and ensuring our platform runs well across cloud and on-premise (typically cloud-prem) environments. You'll also manage critical services like PostgreSQL, vector databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security & Compliance: Help us continue to meet and exceed our obligations under SOC 2, work with our PCI-level external pentesters, handle vulnerability management and harden our applications and cloud infra. Help us maintain and grow our lead as a security focused AI company.
• Enterprise Features: Building out our Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) and Multi-Single Tenant (MST) offerings, making them robust enough for federal and regulated enterprise environments.
• Customer Success: Working directly with enterprise customers on their infrastructure needs, from navigating infosec approvals & compliance questionnaires to implementing secure data connections and deploying BYOC solutions.
• Software Engineering: Developing new platform features, data and SaaS tool integrations, fixes and reliability improvements
  
  

💻 Our Stack While We Care More About Fundamentals And The Ability To Learn Than Experience With Specific Technologies, We’re Looking For Someone Who Can Hit The Ground Running With Our Current Infrastructure:

• Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Argo CD and/or Flux CD, Github Actions, AWS
• Data & AI: PostgreSQL, BrainTrust, vector databases
• Development: TypeScript, NextJS, React, Python (for when you flex into full-stack work)
