Credigy is seeking an Associate to join its Credit - Investment Valuation team in Atlanta, GA. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada, Credigy has a mandate to deploy capital across a wide variety of asset classes and geographies and has achieved exceptional growth and strong risk-adjusted returns through financing and principal acquisitions in the consumer asset-backed space. Currently, with over $7B in investments, Credigy continuously evaluates new opportunities to grow its portfolio through transactions in the private market. The Investment Valuation team is an integral driver of the transaction process: developing an investment thesis, assessing the credit risk of underlying assets, and negotiating economic terms to provide strategic direction for capital deployment. Senior Analysts on the Investment Valuation team are responsible for supporting senior team members throughout the transaction.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Evaluate credit and structural risks of potential investments;
- Identify and analyze key performance drivers across various asset classes;
- Conduct comprehensive research on different asset types;
- Perform data analysis to forecast key investment metrics and cashflows;
- Prepare investment memoranda for executive review and decision-making.
Attributes of the successful candidate:
- Strong quantitative skills and an interest in financial modeling;
- Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions quickly;
- Curiosity about different asset types such as residential mortgages, auto loans, solar loans, student loans, unsecured personal loans, mortgage servicing rights (MSR), insurance-backed consumer assets and more;
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive;
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
- Proficient in Excel; familiarity with Tableau, SQL, SAS, etc. is a plus;
- Experience working with consumer loan data is preferred;
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills, especially about technical or financial matters;
- Can learn complex concepts quickly, then communicate them clearly and concisely;
- Bachelor's Degree with a strong quantitative base is required: Applied Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or related fields are preferred; 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred
