One of America's leading issuers of VISA® and MasterCard® credit cards located in Las Vegas Nevada is seeking highly qualified Information Technology professionals. We provide credit cards to individuals who have been historically overlooked by other banks because of their less than perfect credit. This position is a part of the Data Strategy, Governance, and Analytics group. This team is based in the Information Management department and supports the entire bank. The mission of the Data Engineering and Reporting team is to take the enterprise from its current state of analytics to be more predictive and prescriptive using advanced analytical techniques. Our goal is to analyze a large volume of data by using advanced analytics to find trends and answer questions to support business processes and systems. Our data professionals are tasked with creating efficient data analysis pipelines, data mining, statistical analysis and creating powerful visualizations to support the business in their day-to-day decision making. Part of our strategy is the development of more advanced data analytics and machine learning-powered models that touch various domains of data that represent campaigns, response, credit, fraud, customer service, finance, and collections.
The Data Engineer performs analysis, design, development, and optimization activities to create an analytical solution to provide actionable data insights. They also play a critical role in defining and creating the future state of data and analytics in the enterprise. Team members are expected to build trust and relationships through effective communication with both technical and non-technical partners within multiple departments to facilitate success. A successful individual in this role has and imparts business knowledge, data engineering, and business analysis expertise related to the sources and uses of data for business analytics and decisioning.
Essential Job Functions :
- Design, develop, and maintain high quality and optimal solutions related to data integration and compelling visualizations for business analysis
- Leverage large volumes of diverse data to understand the relationships, rules, and usage patterns of data that might impact business results
- Test / Deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machines learning and statistical methods to ensure data is prepared for use in decisioning, predictive, and prescriptive modeling
- Explore and examine data from source systems, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and business partners to find and implement analytical solutions
- Create data pipelines to support analysis and data presentation to the partner teams
- Communicate in crisp, fundamental terms to key stakeholders based on analysis of data, identified trends, data insights and action items
- Present results and recommendations; craft coherent, crisp messaging from complex, voluminous data, and output
- Test, validate, and deploy machine learning algorithm to enhance existing and / or introduce new processes and show bottom line impact
- Ensure that work and processes are well documented
- Interact with process SME’s and senior leaders across the business
- Anticipate issues based on knowledge of internal data trends and propose solutions
- Serve as an expert consultant to internal technical and line of business teams
- Promote data validation goals, ensure accuracy of deliverables, and communicate precisely
- Perform other duties as assigned
