The Web Infrastructure Engineer II will play a technical role in a 24x7 highly available production environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and articulate. The candidate will be recognized as an expert with F5 Load Balancing, Web Application Firewall, BIG-IP DNS, Microsoft operating systems (Windows Server 2012, 2016 or newer), IIS, Akamai CDN, and related software technologies and have a proven history of using administrative tools and automating routine administration tasks.

Essential Job Functions
- Lead the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the F5 appliances.
- Architect and engineer the F5 Local Traffic Manager
- Develop iRules within the F5 appliances.
- Manage Traffic Director Rules
- Manage Akamai’s technology stack including CDN, Site Shield, API & App Protector, and DNS
- PKI and Certificate Management
- Manage DNS using Windows DNS Servers, F5 GTM, and Akamai DNS
- Review, configure, and respond to WAF and DDoS alerts.
- Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify and isolate technical issues.
- Capable of designing, testing, and completing the implementation of complex technical solutions and architecture
- Ability to lead and manage system initiatives and new projects.
- Work with external vendors/consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution.
- Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation.
- Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions.
- Understanding of and experience supporting IIS web servers.
- Understanding of and experience supporting .NET web applications
- Understanding of and experience with VMware vSphere
- Understanding of and experience with Akamai’s technology stack including CDN, Site Shield, API & App Protector, and DNS
- Experience with tcp dump, Wireshark, and analyzing network traffic.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP network models.
- Proven grasp of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching, routing, and security (e.g., Layer 4-7, firewall, DDoS, etc.)
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Strong ability to manage vendor relationships including contracts, negotiations, and service levels.
- Proven problem-solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution.
- Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- 3 years’ experience as Windows Server Administrator
- 3 years of F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
- 3 years of F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
