What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President, Management Consulting - Energy & Infrastructure position at Credit Risk Management Group?
As a Vice President, you’ll be an accomplished, consistent, effective member of the Teneo Management Consulting team whose focus is managing cases with the support of Managing Directors and developing the junior members of the team. This role will serve leading companies in energy and infrastructure on complex issues surrounding policy, technology and innovation, growth, financial strategy, with a particular focus on sustainability and decarbonization. Typical clients you will encounter in this role include US and global utilities, IPPs, renewable/energy storage/EV infrastructure, investors, equipment manufacturers, private equity and pension fund investors.
Responsibilities:
- Structure and lead simple projects or large workstreams of complex ones, working directly with a Senior Vice President or Managing Director
- Demonstrate a strong consulting skill set, with the ability to lead complex research & analysis programs, drive towards bespoke insights for clients, and structure written output
- Develop the “answer” from initial hypothesis through refinement and validation with senior colleagues and/ or clients (as appropriate)
- Proven ability managing case teams on a day-to-day basis, including delegating and planning workload, and providing coaching and development support to new and more junior colleagues
- Support Senior Vice Presidents and Managing Directors in all aspects of Business Development, including developing thought leadership, drafting proposals, and attending pitches
- Able to handle day-to-day liaison with senior clients, empathizing with their issues and escalating concerns where appropriate to Senior Vice Presidents / Managing Directors
- Lead presentations confidently and engagingly, effectively presenting our output to the client
- Carry out business development and firm-building work, and form part of the wider internal teams within Teneo Consulting
- Working effectively from remote or client-site locations, some travel may be required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any relevant degree discipline (e.g. in finance, engineering, economics, or a similar quantitative field)
- 5 years’ relevant work experience ideally within a Strategy Consulting environment; experience working on energy/ infrastructure topics is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated interest and experience in energy transition and sustainability targets
- A proven track record of leading full client/consulting teams through a complete engagement
- Highly logical and numerate, with excellent analytical skills, naturally inclined to use quantitative tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
