What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cyber Security Analyst position at Credit Union of America?
Role: Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. Ensures that member data is safe and works to prevent any form of data breach.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Works with third parties such as TrustCC to ensure that any and all security holes have been addressed and systems are in place to mitigate risk within Information Security. Works with third parties on any and all security issues to ensure that their systems are updated and secure. Addresses concerns raised in periodic security audits.
- Ensures that all systems are updated with proper patches and are fully secured. This includes workstations, routers, switches, firewalls, and all other network equipment.
- Review logs on a daily basis to look for suspicious activities and/or security violations. Report any areas of concern to the appropriate parties.
- Ensure that the company is aware of emerging security trends and risks that need to be addressed. Keep Management Team and staff informed of emerging security risks and address those security concerns as they arise.
- Protects system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources. Ensure that proper documentation is maintained about the control structures and systems are in place to ensure that access rights are maintained.
- Reviews changes to Information Security Systems to ensure that the changes being implemented do not in any way negatively affect the integrity of the network.
- Work to ensure that the Information Technology Security Policy manual is maintained and updated and that policies are followed effectively.
- Generate the required security documentation for the quarterly Supervisory Committee meetings. Ensure that the reports show a consistent progression towards network security.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and reading articles which help to identify emerging security concerns.
- All other duties as assigned. Employees shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job functions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Other Skills: 1. Must be extremely ethical and alert. 2. Excellent communication and problem solving skills. 3. Outstanding knowledge regarding system security measures. 4. Excellent analytical skills. 5. Knowledge of Windows 7, 8, and 10. Experience using Windows Server 2008 and Server 2012. Experience with maintenance of PC hardware, software, and Local Area Network is required.
6. Knowledge of Routers, Switches, and various other network equipment. Ability to troubleshoot various network issues and be able to respond accordingly.
