What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Loan Processor position at Credit Union of America?
$19/hour-$23/hour Commission
(On Site/In Person Position in Wichita, KS)
Role: Assist the R.E. Loan Officers and members with mortgage loan applications; process loan applications, prepare & track necessary loan documents, and close mortgage loans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Prepares letters, forms, checks, and other documents used for collecting, disbursing, and recording mortgage principal and interest. Print and send required disclosures (VOE, VOD, VOM). Closes loans with members.
- Examines documents such as deed, assignments, and mortgages to ensure compliance with escrow instructions, credit union policy, and legal requirements.
- Types notices to government, specifying changes to loan documents, such as mortgage releases.
- Answer member phone calls.
- Orders property insurance policies to ensure protection against loss on mortgaged property. Also orders title work, appraisals, surveys, pest inspections, loan payoffs, flood certifications, county tax assessments, and mortgage credit bureau reports. Collects fees for items ordered and disburses payments.
- Keeps track of the following: items ordered to complete loan files, closed and denied loans for HMDA, RE fee income, mortgage releases for paid-off loans, and homeowners' insurance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Employees shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job functions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A high school education or GED.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Other Skills: Must have good communication skills, ten key calculator, typewriter, computer skills, and good organizational skills.
