What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retirement and Deposit Services Specialist position at Credit Union of America?
Role: Promote CUA deposit products and services, administer in-house IRA and Legal Review programs, and provide guidance to branch personnel. Assist members in meeting their financial needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all components of the IRA program. QA all IRA transactions and maintenance activity. Administer the IRA Resource Team program.
- Facilitate the Legal Review program by providing guidance involving member requests with fiduciary accounts, reviewing member provided documentation and advising FSRs on account setup and ownership.
- Support West Douglas Member Service department. Contribute to the West Douglas deposit goal and see members with CD, IRA, and fiduciary account needs. Administer Medallion Stamp services.
- Promote CUA deposit products. Contribute to the CUA deposit goal. Administer product education through new employee training and sales meeting participation. Assist staff members by providing product support and advice.
- Promote & support Retirement and Investment Services or similar programs for the benefit of CUA members.
- Monitor and manage decedent account processes. Review and properly code all accounts. Provide guidance to staff members on resulting account maintenance. Contact beneficiaries and handle account payout and promote funds retention.
- Handle IRS & tax reporting compliance through records monitoring and file testing. Ensure the timely completion and distribution of all tax documents to members. Complete any needed tax form corrections for CUA accounts. Employees shall be trained annually and demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as is specifically relates to their job functions.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
