General Purpose of the Position
The primary responsibility of the Data Analyst is to help leaders and business units make data driven decisions through report and dashboard development as well as statistical and ad hoc analysis. They will leverage a variety of data sources including the centralized data warehouse. They will utilize data tools to transform complex data into insightful, easy to understand communications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to sit for long periods. The employee continually is required to talk or hear. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Develop descriptive and diagnostic reporting and perform predictive and prescriptive analysis
- Lead reporting and analysis projects
- Develop and maintain dashboards for multiple audiences from tactical frontline to executive summary
- Collaborate across business lines and document business requirements
- Partner with technology teams and vendors to enable data solutions
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for major project teams
- Lead federated data analyst user group: providing training, mentorship, uncovering skill gaps, enabling data literacy, and democratizing data
- Test and validate new datasets
- Enable MDM and Data Governance activities
- Embrace agile methodologies and workflow management
- Evangelize data visualization best practices
- Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in data analytics, computer science, mathematics, or related
- 2 or more years’ experience in analysis, business intelligence, information technology or related field
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.)
- Lifetime learner
- Experience with data preparation tools (Prep, Talend, Alteryx, etc.)
- Experience in SQL working with structured and semi structured data sources
- Working knowledge of statistics
- Understanding of data management principals
- Comfort with ambiguity and constantly changing environment
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a highly productive team
