The Credit Union West Real Estate team streamlines the mortgage application process by offering in-house underwriting, processing and funding.
Position Summary
Enhances the quality of life for our members by meeting or exceeding their service expectations, by providing high quality service, defined as ensuring prompt and accurate transactions, while utilizing a needs-based referral and selling approach that builds member trust and loyalty, delivered in a professional member friendly environment.
Maintains and applies knowledge of Home Equity and Mortgage Products. Conducts interviews of borrowers requesting real estate secured loans, records information, obtains supporting documentation and verification of information in accordance with policy and secondary market guidelines.
Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities
75% Real Estate Origination – Develops and maintain consistently high Real Estate loan referral network from internal and external referrals. Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and develops beneficial business relationships with various Real Estate agents, financial planners and corporate partners as needed to meet established production goals. Identifies and penetrates opportunities in the local market to expand our membership base in the community served by CU West. Maintains tracking log of all approved applications / not funded for future sales opportunities. Stays up-to-date on frequently changing loan programs and investor requirements. Ensures regulatory guidelines are adhered to consistently. Accurately discloses points, fees, and rates
10% Communication – Enter clear, concise comments, edit information and document application status on appropriate loan systems. Communicate professionally in oral and written format with internal and external customers regarding status requests, missing information, explanation of required documentation and / or closing information. Makes outbound calls to drive business. Proactively follow up on mortgage leads to capture sales.
10% Quality Control – Ensure that each loan is processed accurately by making sure the file is properly disclosed, processed, and conforms to the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedure Act (RESPA), and HMDA. Answer questions regarding application requirements for members and internal employees.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Education :
A high school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience :
1-3 years of experience in mortgage loan origination, mortgage processing including pre-disclosure, FACT Act, Good Faith Estimates, and other regulatory requirements in a financial institution preferred
