Position Overview
Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our specialized cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both diagnostic and interventional procedures, as well as a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a high-acuity setting.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–3 years in a diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Additional Requirements:
- On-call availability required:
- 1 night per week
- 1 weekend per month (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)
- 1 holiday annually
- Assess, prepare, and position patients for cardiac catheterization procedures
- Administer moderate (conscious) sedation and conduct continuous hemodynamic monitoring
- Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care
- Communicate patient condition to the attending physician throughout the procedure
- Assist with diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, including:
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) insertion
- Impella insertion
- Temporary pacemaker placement
- Manage and operate necessary equipment before, during, and after procedures
- Ensure proper setup and availability of sterile supplies and specialized tools
- Clinical proficiency in cardiovascular procedures and critical care nursing
- Skilled in administering moderate sedation and interpreting hemodynamic data
- Strong attention to detail and procedural accuracy
- Excellent communication and critical thinking under pressure
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
