Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to join a leading property and casualty (P&C) insurance client, Sompo International . This is a long-term, fully remote opportunity for someone with specialized expertise in Azure Data Lake Services (ADLS) , Azure Databricks , ADF (Azure Data Factory) , Azure Synapse , and PySpark , particularly in the context of P&C insurance . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecting data solutions in the Azure cloud, designing scalable systems for reporting, and working with large data sets.
Key Responsibilities :
Architect and implement end-to-end data solutions in the Azure Cloud to support reporting needs and analytics.
Design and optimize Azure Data Lake Services (ADLS) for data ingestion, storage, and management.
Work with Azure Databricks , Azure Data Factory (ADF) , Azure Synapse , and PySpark for data transformation and ETL processes.
Develop and optimize large-scale data pipelines to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Provide guidance and best practices for cloud-based data solutions, especially in a P&C insurance environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data architectures.
Ensure the data infrastructure is secure, compliant, and performs efficiently at scale.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
P&C insurance experience is mandatory -knowledge of the unique data requirements and challenges of the property and casualty insurance industry is crucial.
Extensive experience with Azure Data Lake Services (ADLS) , including designing and managing large-scale data lakes.
Strong expertise in Azure Databricks , Azure Data Factory (ADF) , Azure Synapse Analytics , and PySpark for processing and transforming data.
Proven ability to design and architect scalable, high-performance data solutions in a cloud environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong experience working with teams across time zones and remote collaboration.
Experience with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
Desired Qualifications :
Familiarity with additional Azure services (e.g., Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Blob Storage).
Strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting tools.
