Job Description:
As a Quality Inspector in our machine shop, you will play a crucial role in upholding our high standards of quality by ensuring all products meet required specifications. As a key member of the quality team, you will inspect, test, and measure machined parts and components to ensure they meet precise tolerances and are defect-free. In this role, you will be responsible not only for performing part inspections but also for investigating dimensional discrepancies and implementing necessary corrections. Working closely with the production team, you will help resolve quality issues and contribute to continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking abilities, be a proactive self-starter, be hands-on, and thrive in both independent and collaborative settings. This is a full-time, on-site position; remote work is not available for this role.
Responsibilities to include:
· Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other measuring instruments
· Verify product compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
· Perform first article inspections, in-process and final checks to ensure production standards are met
· Perform / analyze process capability studies (when required)
· Record and disposition non-conforming material from internal/external processes (MRB process) and communicate issues with production teams and supervisors
· Document inspection results and maintain detailed records for traceability
· Assist in the control of measuring equipment and maintain an organized, clean inspection area
· Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and quality standards
· Work closely with the production team to ensure products meet the required standards before moving to the next phase of production or shipment
· Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards at all times
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or technical certification in Quality Control or Manufacturing preferred)
· Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a machining or manufacturing environment (minimum of 2 years)
· Minimum 3 years of experience working in quality in a manufacturing setting
· Understanding engineering prints, specifications, and complete understanding of GD&T (ASME Y 14.5)
· Experience using standard quality tools; micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators, etc.
· Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and measurement techniques
· Familiarity with CNC machining, turning, milling, and grinding processes
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
· Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with ISO 9001 or other industry-specific quality standards
· Experience with quality control software and documentation systems
· Certification in quality inspection or related fields
· Knowledge of advanced inspection equipment like CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
