Farmers Market Sales Associate

Job Description:
Do you love fresh produce and chatting with people? We’re seeking a reliable and friendly Farmers Market Vendor to represent Creek Side Market Garden and sell our farm-fresh vegetables at the local market. You’ll be the face of our farm, bringing our seasonal harvests—like crisp carrots, juicy tomatoes, and leafy greens—to customers while sharing our passion for sustainable farming.

Market Locations:

• Naperville ( Saturday & Tuesday )
• Batavia ( Saturday & Wednesday )
• Lincoln Park ( Saturday & Wednesday )
• Chicago ( Every other Sunday ) - In consideration stage

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain an eye-catching stall with our provided vegetables, signage, and pricing.
• Engage customers with a smile, answer questions, and highlight what makes our produce special.
• Handle sales (cash, card, or mobile payments) and keep track of transactions.
• Monitor stock levels and report back on what sells best.
• Pack up unsold goods and clean the stall at the end of each market day.

Requirements:

• Outgoing and approachable with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry moderate loads (e.g., vegetable crates).
• Comfortable working outdoors, rain or shine.
• Basic math skills for quick and accurate transactions.
• Reliable transportation to and from the market
• Large vehicle is a plus (mileage reimbursement available if applicable).
• No farming experience needed—just enthusiasm for our veggies!

Pay: $17.92 - $19.09 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 32 per week
