ISH Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
Ingredient Solutions & Hides (ISH) Maintenance Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting and maintaining assigned equipment within the ISH department. ISH Maintenance Technicians are expected to communicate professionally, problem solve, and use a continuous improvement mentality and work to perpetuate a “Creekstone Proud” culture through attitude and actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work safely and efficiently to complete all assigned tasks.
• Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and tests equipment to verify functionality.
• Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum quality production.
• Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent downtime to the operation.
• Clear jams and provide incidental repairs to keep production operating or get them back up and running after unavoidable downtime.
• Develop and promote positive working relationships with other departments throughout the building.
• Communicate continuously with operations to verify that equipment is running optimally.
• Complete all required reports and communicate with maintenance leadership in an ongoing way.
• Notify all internal stakeholders in the event of abnormal mechanical situations, such that the business is protected from loss.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and clean work environment by taking initiative and being an example to others.
• All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Organizational and time management skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined and have a willingness to learn mechanical concepts.
• Ability to present ideas, concepts, issues, concerns, and questions in a well thought out, positive, and professional manner.
• Trustworthiness and the ability to self-initiate tasks within the scope of one’s duties.
• Ability to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and respect.
• Clear communication skills – verbally and in written form.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Functional knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and write at an acceptable level.
