Premier fast growing privately held Commercial Development and Construction Company and is looking for a self-motivated Development Manager to join our management team. This individual will oversee and participate in the day-to-day conceptual development, engineering, design and entitlement of commercial projects complete to bidding for construction.
This is a remote position in the Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami area.
Creighton Construction and Development's portfolio is comprised of various commercial real estate projects, from retail, restaurant, convenience stores to medical facilities in Florida, Texas, Colorado California and Virginia. Currently, the Company is experiencing tremendous growth. To succeed in the role of Development Manager, the candidate must be self-motivated, ambitious, organized, possess strong management skills, attention to detail and a sense of urgency for critical deadlines. We are looking for a self-starter who has the ability to work independently and lead project teams through the land development process. Essential Functions:
- Oversee and direct projects from conception to completion
- Meet conditions of performance
- Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging ones
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft proposals and obtain permits and licenses
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
- Ensure quality construction standards
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project’s financial, political, architectural, and construction feasibility
- Manages architects, civil engineers, traffic consultants and surveyors required for the feasibility entitlement and construction of the project
- Work closely with clients, our construction project managers and our real estate team.
- Coordinate and meet with governing entities required in the feasibility and entitlement of projects
- Create and maintain development project schedules
- Manage and secure all necessary permits and entitlements for construction
- Enhance Company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Other special projects as assigned

Job and Education Requirements:
- Proficient in review and value engineering of architectural & civil drawings
- Proven working experience in land development management
- Advanced knowledge of management processes, means and methods
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Microsoft Office Proficient
- BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field preferred
- PMP preferred but not required
