Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Bilingual Paralegal or Legal Assistant to become a part of our team. Will consider full or part time.
This position supports The Milton R. Abrahams Legal Clinic. This hourly position is paid by extramural funds.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting, formatting, and proof-reading correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other documents.
- Maintaining and monitoring assigned files and deadlines.
- Coordinating and supporting attorneys at client meetings.
- Performing legal and non-legal research.
- Translating written legal documents, correspondence, and other documents (Spanish/English).
- Assisting clients, scheduling appointments, answering phones, handling mail, email, and calendar inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of paralegal experience OR Associate’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate with 3 years of experience.
- Ability to utilize advanced features of Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, as well as other software.
- The ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal form.
- The ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks, completing them under time constraints
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and excellent writing and communication skills
