JOB POSITION SUMMARY
Crescend Technologies is seeking an initiative-taking, multiskilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Ankeny, IA. The successful candidate will work across multiple laboratory environments, performing tests and creating reports using industrial microwave systems. This position involves using electronic test equipment, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting application tests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs tests on various sample materials and documents results in a detailed, accurate manner.
- Prepares test reports with summaries, collaborating with engineering teams when necessary.
- Submits test reports for approval by engineering leads and business development teams.
- Ensures reports are prepared and sent in a timely manner to clients/customers.
- Oversees test record database, ensuring accurate documentation and data integrity.
- Performs benchtop and/or pilot scale customer application tests using microwave heating systems for drying, heating and advanced material processing.
- Conducts application tests following standard procedures.
- Maintains application test equipment.
- Draws conclusions from application test results and identifies any trends and/or anomalies.
- Generates and delivers comprehensive application test reports based on findings.
SUPERVISORY/MENTORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES May assist with mentoring interns as needed.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient with operation of RF test equipment (network analyzer, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and RF components).
Knowledge of electrical testing and troubleshooting techniques.
Proficient with digital tools and database management systems for tracking test data. Use of basic hand and power tools.
Proficient with Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
Basic computer programming skills (i.e., Ladder Logic, C, C , and/or Python) is helpful but not required.
Basic understanding of sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Math) is helpful.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
Completion of an associate degree in electrical engineering, electronics or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Typically engages in the following movements: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling and writing and repetitive motions. Exerts up to 20 pounds of force regularly, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Will use close and color vision. Depth perception needed. Occasional travel (weather conditions may vary), 0-10% of time, to customer sites, within United States and abroad, for commissioning of the microwave generators within their application.
