Job Summary :
The client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to play a critical role in our app rationalization and business architecture initiatives. This position will involve collaborating with stakeholders across various state departments to analyze, optimize, and consolidate our application portfolio and IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business processes, systems integration, and the software development lifecycle, with a proven track record of aligning technology with business strategies in large, complex organizations or public sector environments.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the current application portfolio, identifying redundant, obsolete, or underutilized systems.
Analyze the lifecycle, performance, and value of existing applications to guide decisions on retirement, consolidation, replacement, or optimization.Support the development of roadmaps and strategies to streamline the application portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards.Business Architecture Support :Assist in the creation and documentation of business architecture models, aligning business processes with technology solutions.
Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements, system dependencies, and pain points in current workflows.Ensure that technology solutions and application rationalization efforts align with the overall business architecture framework.General Responsibilities :Interact with executive level business users or technical experts.
Identify improvements to project standards to achieve high quality services / products.Identify best practices and standards for the use of products and systems.Deliver support and design for industry specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applications.Convey technical and functional concepts effectively.Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role, with a focus on application portfolio management, business architecture, and / or IT strategy.Proven experience in app rationalization or business architecture efforts, especially in large, complex organizations or public sector environments.Strong understanding of business processes, systems integration, and the software development lifecycle.An overall knowledge and understanding of application development.Proven experience with a technical specialty across large and complex implementations and systems.Required Skills and Experience :
