Note: ***initially need to work onsite 5 days/ week (6-8 weeks to learn the business).

Eventually, this will move to a hybrid; 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.***

Job Description :

• The New Jersey Office of the Public Defender (OPD) is seeking a highly versatile Content and Coding Developer responsible for both web application development and the management of digital content. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and improving web applications while ensuring the seamless integration of textual and visual content into web platforms. The Content and Coding Developer will work directly under the Chief Technology Officer to manage and deliver projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities :

Web Application Development :

• Develop and maintain web applications using ASP.NET , HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
• Optimize content and applications for performance, accessibility, and user experience.
• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with IT leads and content creators to seamlessly integrate web content.

Content Creation and Management :

• Create, edit, and publish digital content across various platforms while ensuring consistency with branding.
• Manage content schedules and workflows to ensure timely delivery of digital assets.
• Implement content strategies in alignment with the OPD's goals and objectives.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting :
• Provide ongoing support for web content and applications, resolving issues promptly.
• Stay updated on the latest web development and content management trends, tools, and technologies.
• Collaboration :
• Work with the Business Analyst, Application Architect, and other Application Development team members to ensure customer requirements are met.

Required Qualifications :

Experience :

• At least 5 years of experience in HTML, CSS (preferably the latest versions), JavaScript, ASP.NET , SQL database, and application/web development.
• At least 3 years of experience with Next.js, React, or Angular.
• At least 3 years of experience with TeamSite and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Experience with Docker.

Education :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field.
• Additional Skills :
• Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop.
• Knowledge of back-end technologies and databases is a plus.
• Ability to communicate technical details clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with content management systems (e.g., TeamSite).
• Basic graphic design skills using tools like Adobe Photoshop.
• Familiarity with back-end technologies and databases.

Additional Notes :

• Initially, this role will require onsite work 5 days a week for the first 6-8 weeks to understand the business operations. After that period, the position will transition to a hybrid model with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
• Local candidates are preferred due to the nature of onsite requirements.
