Job title : GIS Technician
Location : Darien, Georgia(onsite)
Duration : 6 months
Candidate will be required to be ON-SITE - Darien, GA,. Key Responsibilities :
Editing Road Centerlines : Editing and updating road centerline data and associated characteristics. Coordination with Local Entities : Collaborating with local government entities to acquire data and verify ownership of roads. GIS Mapping & Data Creation : Using geospatial data to create and produce GIS maps. Data Validation & Reporting : Ensuring data integrity, querying databases, and preparing reports for supervisors and other stakeholders. Multitasking : Handling multiple GIS projects and tasks simultaneously, coordinating, and supporting various activities. Required Skills & Qualifications :
Proficiency with ArcGIS : Working knowledge of ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite, including editing tools, shapefiles, and geodatabases. Attention to Detail : High-level attention to detail in handling GIS data and editing processes. Experience with Databases & Topology : Familiarity with geodatabases, topology, and editing in SDE (Spatial Database Engine) multi-user environments. Educational Background : A degree (or near completion) in GIS, Geography, or a related field. Technical Agility & Flexibility : Ability to adapt to changing requirements and be proactive in handling GIS projects. Preferred Qualifications :
GIS Experience in Local Government : Experience creating and editing GIS data, especially in a city or county government setting, is preferred. Position Details :
Location : Darien, GA (on-site required, with potential for limited telework post-training). Contract : Initial contract through the end of the fiscal year, with potential for renewal in July. Compensation : Pay based on experience in transportation attribution-related activities. Highly Desired Skills :
Hands-on experience with ModelBuilder (5 years). Proficiency in Python programming (5 years). Demonstrated expertise in Arcade scripting for ArcGIS data visualization. Preferred Qualifications :
Strong ability to communicate GIS principles and capabilities to non-GIS users. Experience in writing and maintaining metadata for geospatial outputs. Ability to work independently and provide solutions based on GIS capabilities.
