Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and secure our Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and security to ensure high availability, reliability, and efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with development and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Database Management & Optimization
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes for efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve performance issues using query optimization, indexing, and tuning .
- Implement and monitor database performance metrics and alerts .
- Conduct regular database health checks and performance reviews .
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure database security through user management, access control, and encryption .
- Implement and enforce database security policies and compliance requirements .
- Monitor and audit database activities to detect and mitigate security threats .
- Upgrades & Maintenance
- Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to databases and related systems.
- Manage database migrations and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies .
- Support & Collaboration
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to resolve database challenges.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed.
- Backup & Recovery
- Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies .
- Test and validate backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Monitor backup processes and address backup failures proactively.
