Company Overview:

Crescent Canna is at the forefront of the THC-infused beverage industry, dedicated to providing premium hemp-derived THC seltzers and CBD products at an affordable price all across the country. We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to create and maintain a robust financial environment as we continue to grow and expand.

Position Overview:

As the Controller of Crescent Canna, you will be responsible for performing all accounting and financial reporting activities. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for establishing internal controls, preparing financials reports, creating annual budgets and forecasts, and managing day-to-day accounting operations. This role demands a hands-on, detail-oriented CPA who excels in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Operations:

• Ensure that all aspects of the accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and general ledger activities are performed while maintaining proper separation of duties.
• Managing payouts and monitoring sales and expenses for products under endorsement contracts.
• Optimize accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Work alongside the procurement manager to implement and maintain an inventory management system.

2. Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Establish, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analyzing:

• Prepare and maintain the annual budget.
• Monitor and conduct variance analysis and provide insightful explanations for budget-to-actual performance to the CEO.
• Supporting the CEO in assessing the performance of sales teams across different markets.
• Supporting the CMO in assessing the ROI of marketing campaigns and determining marketing budgets based on sales projections.
• Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual forecasts.

4. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Assess the Organizations funding requirements for future capital raises and prepare financial information to assist in the capital raise process.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Compile and deliver information to CPA firm to assist with tax return preparation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles.
• Experience in the cannabis, beverage, or consumer packaged goods industry is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
