Our focus is to provide an accessible, high-quality, and developmentally appropriate educational experience that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development for children 6 weeks and older in a nurturing environment. Our instruction focuses on language and communication development through participation in exploration, play and socialization opportunities, activities of daily living, and evidence-based curriculum activities.
Duties
The 4K First Steps Teacher is responsible for working with the Assistant Teacher in implementing the Creative Curriculum, working with the 4K First Steps Coach, generate weekly individualized lesson plans, completing parent engagement activities, completing checkpoints per student across domains by established deadlines, providing age-appropriate instruction, managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom, maintaining children's hygiene, monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way, assisting with serving meals, and teach school readiness skills. The Teacher ensures a safe and stimulating classroom environment and actively engage, encourage, care for and nurture preschool students.
Ratio is 2 teachers to 17 Students.
Paid training is required throughout the year, including attending a 4K conference once a year and other in-person and online trainings.
Shift is 8:00 am-5:00 pm M-F with a one hour lunch break.

Requirements
Requirments:
- A two-year degree in early childhood education or a related field and must be enrolled and demonstrating progress toward the completion of a teacher education program within four years.
- Have at least 6 consecutive months of documented experience working in a DSS-regulated childcare center with children under five years of age.
- Must be proficient with computers.
- Have reliable transportation.
Other Requirements:
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Be 18 years of age.
- Provide a clear TB Test and health screening questionnaires.
- Must clear state and federal background checks and pass a health screening.
- Have an issued form of identification

- Bilingual in Spanish and English

- Experience teaching at another Free First Steps 4K location

Hourly pay is commensurate with related experience, training, and education.
