Our instruction focuses on language and communication development through participation in exploration, play and socialization opportunities, activities of daily living, and evidence-based curriculum activities.
Duties
The 4K First Steps Teacher Assistant is responsible for working with the Lead Teacher in implementing the Creative Curriculum, working with the 4K First Steps Coach, providing age-appropriate instruction, managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom, maintaining children's hygiene, monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way and assisting with preparing and serving meals, and teach school readiness skills. The Teacher Assistant helps to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment and actively engage, encourage, care for and nurture preschool students.

Requirements
The First Step 4K Program outlines that an Assistant Teacher have meet the following requirements:
- Hold a minimum high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Have two years of documented experience working with children under five years of age.
- Must have completed or enroll/be enrolled in a program to complete Early Childhood Development Credential (ECD) 101.
Other childcare requirements include:
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Be 18 years of age.
- Provide a record of immunizations and a health screening questionnaire.
- Must clear state and federal background checks and pass a health screening.
- Have an issued form of identification
