Crescent City Schools is seeking a full-time, well-qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position provides quality school-based occupational therapy services, which includes but is not limited to assessment / evaluation, intervention / treatment, IEP planning and implementation, discharge planning, related documentation, and communication between teachers, paraprofessionals, related services providers, administration, and families. This full-time position includes direct services with scholars, and coordinating / supervising paraprofessionals / registered behavior technicians at each school site. The Constellations Program’s BCBA will report to the Principal of The Constellations School.

The  Board Certified Behavior Analyst impacts students’ lives by :

  • Developing materials / resources for educators and instructional assistants in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and / or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with challenging behavior
  • Supervise paraprofessionals trained as Registered Behavior Technicians
  • Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) for individual students and collaborating in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Planning and overseeing the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Creating and assisting school staff with the development, tracking, and analysis of behavior plans, ABA programs, and other appropriate programs for students who present skill deficits and problem behaviors
  • Assisting in the management of behavior that is deemed unsafe
  • Working directly with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff that work with such students
  • Designing and implementing data collection systems and assisting in the interpretation of that data
  • Providing coaching on effective behavior interventions and strategies
  • Working with classroom teachers and instructional assistants to model effective behavioral and instructional programming
  • Collecting data and preparing  a variety of reports to document case history, assessments, and treatment
  • Participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement
  • Integrating weekly feedback and goal-setting into daily practice
  • Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events
  • Taking on other tasks as needed

  • Have a master's degree or higher in a Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved field
  • Are BCBA Certified
  • Are a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA)
  • Have CPI training or are willing to be CPI-trained

  • Demonstrate past success working with students in urban settings and non-selective schools
  • Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, crouch, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and / or move up to 80 pounds
  • After being trained in CPI, may be required to restrain a student
  • This is an in-person role

    About The Constellations Program

    The Constellations Program is a preK through 4th grade school setting for students with low-incidence disabilities. At Constellations, we prepare students to achieve their highest independent level of functioning. The Constellations Program will support students in meeting their functional skill needs as well as the academic skills aligned to the LEAP Connect. While this program is geared primarily towards students with Autism, it is open to other students with limited to no verbal skills, intellectual impairments, and similar exceptionalities.
