The Production Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing all production operations to ensure that production targets are met while upholding the highest safety, quality, and compliance standards. This role is responsible for managing production teams, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvements in efficiency and cost control within a GMP environment.
Production Manager Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Manage daily production operations to ensure all products are produced safely, hygienically, and in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Planning & Scheduling: Develop and oversee production schedules to meet planned requirements; proactively plan capacity, staffing, and resource allocation to achieve production targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate production staff; establish performance expectations and conduct performance reviews to ensure a high-performing, engaged workforce.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs related to waste, materials, energy, labor, and packaging.
- Quality & Compliance: Oversee quality control initiatives, participate in quality control meetings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented for any issues related to Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Equipment & Maintenance Coordination: Proactively identify and resolve mechanical and process issues; coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Foster strong communication and teamwork across departments; maintain efficient shift transitions and seamless handovers between production teams.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production documentation and reports, ensuring all records comply with recommended policies and regulatory standards.
- Safety & Environmental Standards: Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement; ensure all production operations adhere to 21 CFR safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Budget & Cost Control: Monitor production costs and work collaboratively with management to optimize budgetary performance while achieving operational goals.
Production Manager Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in a dietary supplement manufacturing environment (or equivalent)
- Proven leadership experience in a production setting.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of food safety, GMP, HACCP, and quality control processes.
- Bi-Lingual Spanish capability is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and motivate a production team; strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve production and quality issues swiftly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Rigorous commitment to accurate documentation and compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production goals; ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic production environment.

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
