Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to join our team as a Principal Production Analyst. This position will provide critical support to engineering, land, accounting, and management teams by managing production operations data, generating actionable insights, and assisting with technical tasks to optimize operations. This full-time role reports to the Area Production Engineering Manager and is based out of our corporate office in Irving, TX / Hybrid / Remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist engineering teams in monitoring and optimizing well performance and production operations such as artificial lift optimization, nodal analysis, and field logistics.
- Capable of writing workover procedures, with an in-depth knowledge of downhole operations and the ability to communicate with field-based workover consultants.
- Compile, organize, and manage production data to support reporting and decision-making across departments.
- Strong working knowledge of P2 and cyget
- Support preparation and review of well performance reports, providing operational insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with production engineers to ensure operational efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical expertise in well operations and production processes to production engineers.
- Coordinate with field teams to support well testing, production monitoring, and other field activities as required.
- Generate detailed technical reports and presentations for management and executive staff.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging trends to enhance operational effectiveness
- Experience implementing and writing standard operating procedures regarding workover operations, artificial lift operations, etc.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Licensure
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on production operations and engineering support.
- Strong knowledge of production engineering principles and field operations
- Experience with well testing, production monitoring, and field-based operational support.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, including Microsoft Excel, P2 Carte, and Cygnet.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and government standards related to oil and gas in the state of Texas
