Crescent Woolen Mills is a manufacturer of woolen-spun yarns located on the western shore of Lake Michigan in beautiful Two Rivers, WI. The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating manufacturing related activities including scheduling, logistics, customer service, and other activities related to the core mission of the organization.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support production scheduling activities.
- Manage materials, including receiving and allocating them to production batches.
- Create, Schedule, and sequence batches efficiently.
- Coordinate inventory management in the warehouse, including ancillary items such as plant and department supplies.
- Assist with audits in manufacturing for housekeeping, inventory or other activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects with team members.
- Create and manage the internal customer score card process.
- Coordinate logistics and shipping between customers and carriers, including managing shipping details, carrier information, tracking numbers, delivery dates, and documentation.
- Perform new order entry and verify raw material availability.
- Review customer orders to ensure products meet specifications and communicate any deviations to production and sales.
- Provide proactive status updates to production management regarding production progress, delays, or issues.
- Schedule finished goods shipments and coordinate transportation logistics with vendors.
- Partner with supervisors to support operational start-ups and shutdowns.
- Load and unload materials from semi-trucks as needed.
- Process packing lists, arrange shipment as needed.
- Generate tickets and barcode labels for tracking daily finished goods.
Skills and Abilities
- Must have effective communication skills, writing skills, and attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and front office demeanor
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and have excellent attendance
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Education and Experience
- Must have a high school degree or GED; Associates degree preferred
- Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience with inventory management, warehousing, production coordination preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Regularly required to sit, perform keyboard data entry, work on and look at a computer screen
- Regularly walk and work throughout the facility, with exposure to raw textile fibers, heat, humidity and cold temperatures
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
